Adoption and Fostering

I have been working therapeutically within Adoption and Fostering since 2013. The main areas that I have worked in are, child to parent violence, various emotional issues that parents have either pre or post adoption, training adopters and foster carers in a form of Positive Behaviour Support and Restrictive Physical Intervention, that is attachment and trauma sensitive. I have also worked with various difficulties, parents have with parenting, and completed a limited amount of Life Story Work.

While I am a trained social worker and integrative therapist, the additional training that I have done has lead me to use Dialectical Developmental Psychotherapy (DDP), Non-Violent Resistance (NVR) as developed by Haim Omer, and Thought Field Therapy (TFT) predominantly. More information on these therapies is available by clicking on the links above, or on my dedicated pages. I also include other pieces of training and learning as is needed.

I work predominantly within Gloucestershire, but have travelled much further afield for larger pieces of work. Most of my work is funded through the Adoption Support Fund (ASF).
